Cleveland Update

I haven't written anything in a while so I thought I would update everyone on life at the Cleveland House. As you know Todd's car died. We have been thinking about getting rid of the Trailblazer for something a little bigger since we seems to keep adding dogs to the family. Todd and I looked at some vehicles yesterday and dare I say it I liked a minivan best.

I have been training and studying dog training a lot since Wicket has been with us. I am looking forward to this fall. I plan to do a lot of agility trails with Miss Chloe and work on getting her NATCH (NADAC agility trial champion). I will start Wicket in puppy classes soon and maybe try some herding with him. Reese has had a lot of health problems but I'm hoping to do some more freestyle training with him soon. Then their is Seida who loves to hunt critters and is a great running partner for me.
Reese and Wicket playing together.
Reese a few weeks ago got bit by something and his poor little face swelled up. This guy just can't catch a break.

I am thankful for the beautiful day God has given us today. Hope yours is going well too. -Heidi

Sock Bandit Story

Under the guise of an adorable Reese-Boy lurks a genius of incredible magnitude. A genius so cunning that no one would ever suspect his true mission. TAKING OVER THE WORLD!

One average, ordinary day, Reese-Boy lays motionless, pretending to sleep. Using his Super Duper Listening Device he waits for the right moment to attempt a most daring quest.

Finally, Mom leaves the room! He waits… “Success!” he says to himself as he hears Mom messing with the laundry at the far end of the house. Mentally invoking the theme to ‘Mission Impossible’ Reese-Boy springs into action! Coming to his quarry he whispers, “A single black sock, yes…this will do nicely!” Quickly, silently, with the reflexes of a Ca… Very, Nimble Dog…(that was close!) he snags his prey and makes his way back to the dog bed before anyone notices. Once there he tosses it on the bed and half lays on it to keep it hidden from those silly humans who will, “never notice it was missing”.

Examining his prize Reese-Boy thinks to himself, “With this single black sock, I will finally be able to power my Super Laser of Unbelievably, Remarkable Proportions, (SLURP for short!) taking my first, true step toward TAKING OVER THE WORLD!”

(Note: Few people realize the great power retained by a single sock. The more active the sock wearer is, the more powerful the sock becomes. Thus, dirty socks are the BEST! Reese-Boy is not the first to harness this great power. Ever wonder why you can’t find that sock in the dryer? I’m willing to bet it never made it passed the hamper! BEWARE THE SOCK BANDIT!!)

Hug a stranger

Ok, I bought a dresser from target and took it back yesterday to get another because it had a broken piece. The dresser takes two guys to get it out of my SUV. I shop (in a hurry) for a few things and then head back to the return desk to get my new dresser. I had to stand in line yet again so by the time I finished everything I was ready to get home. I tell the guy that is going to load the new dresser that I will go get my SUV an pull it up front. I am in a hurry yet again trying to make sure I don't make the workers wait to long for me to get my car. As I pull up to the front of the store I see that a lady seems to be following me on foot (was parked near me). I get out of the car to see what she wants and the lady has my purse. I asked where she got it and apparently in my hurry I left it sitting in the cart. I was so thankful that I just grabbed the lady and gave her a hug (I hope I didn't scare her). We got some interesting looks. I am so glad there are good honest people to help when I seem to forget everything including my purse. Oh, I have to take the new dresser back (broken). Guess I didn't need a new one.

The red bomber is dead...

Well, Todd's beloved car has come to an end. Todd was rear ended at a stop sign yesterday by an SUV. Todd is sore in his back and neck but seems to be doing fine (thankfully). He was sad to see his car go. The car is 19 years old and Todd had it for about 14 years. There was over 250,000 miles on it and it had better gas mileage then most newer cars. Goodbye red bomber!

Went to the doc...

I went to the doctor today because I have been having really bad pain in my sinus area. I haven't wanted to do much of anything but sleep. Well, I figured I probably had an infection and I do. Hopefully I will feel better soon. On top of that I had lots of blood drawn and am mildly anemic. I was tested for this two years ago and it was only slightly below normal. So, I am wondering if it has gotten worse over the years or if I just have better days then others. The doctor also noticed irregular heart beats which has never happened in all my years of doctor visits. They tested me for that but nothing looked unusual. So, I have to go back in a week for another check up. That is the scoop for today. Please pray I feel better I have been a real grouch lately.
