Say Cheese!

I tried to do a few pictures with the dogs today, of course little Reese thought it was better if he did his own thing. Go figure! When we finished playing with pictures Todd and I needed to put the ottoman back in front of the couch. Of course, Seida was laying on top and we lifted it slowly so we wouldn't scare her. Chloe decided to stand under the ottoman as we are trying to set it down. Then Seida went on a licking spry since Todd's hands couldn't stop her. Todd got lots of Seida kisses. All the while we are laughing and trying not to drop Seida and the ottoman on top of Chloe. Where are the two boys you might ask? Well, they ran around us playing their own game of tag. Boring in the Cleveland house, never!

Christmas Day!

We had a good Christmas! Dad cooked a yummy breakfast and we opened gifts. The guys spent the rest of the morning clearing out our snow covered drive way with the tractor. Then everyone took turns play in the snow on the four wheeler. I have to say it was neat to have so much snow on Christmas! Todd playing!

Christmas Eve 2009

It is going to be a white Christmas this year. The snow is very deep and still coming down. Here are a few photos from our day. Merry Christmas everyone! I baked a Christmas cake.

Perfection

I thought this was an interesting quote that I read on a training website.

"Perfection is the lowest standard a human could ever take on because it is unattainable therefore you ultimately have no standard at all. You are preparing for failure, because that is your ultimate expectation.”

A muddy, cold day

The Cleveland's still have fun when it is cold and muddy outside.
We still have a little white on us!

Update on Cleveland's

We had lots of different things going on around here with holidays and birthdays. Todd and I had a good Thanksgiving with our family. Can't bet two meals full of good food.
Cayden and his banana cake.
Happy b-day!

Dog News: I went to a couple of agility trials and am very proud of Chloe and how hard she works for me. I look forward to more trials to come and am finally going to do a Greg Darett seminar in Houston. I hope to become more knowledgeable in agility training.

Party!

I let my friend Elizabeth drag me to a Twilight party last night. I love the Twilight books so I figured why not. We did a quiz which I got 15 out of 24 right (hard questions). There were lots of prizes and I won an ornament that states "All I want for Christmas is Edward Cullen". Todd laughed when I showed him. We had venom punch and cupcakes with fangs. What can I say adults are just as crazed about vampires and the teens.

Robbers Cave

We had our church family retreat this past weekend at Robbers Cave. I took Wicket along with me and he seemed to have fun hiking and playing. Todd stayed home to get honey from his bees (yes, he has a beehive) while the weather was warm. I had a good time and the weather was wonderful. I'm looking forward to next years trip.

Dog coat

I made my first dog coat yesterday! I think it turned out well. My little model Reese is such a good boy to take pictures. Reese didn't even care that I put him in purple.

October agility trial

I was in Norman this weekend competing in a NADAC agility trial. I am very proud of Miss Chloe! We moved up to the Elite (advanced) level in almost all events. The times were fast and the courses tough so we didn't win as many qualifying rounds this time but we had some great things happen in our runs and learned a lot. Now we will work hard to be ready for the next trial.

I took a few pictures of friends at the trail. As always I pull the camera out at the last minute and didn't get a few of our Twister friends that came out.
Miss Chloe, Heidi, and Wicket
This was taken when we got home Sunday afternoon from the trial. I had to hold Chloe and Wicket because they were so excited to see Todd and the other dogs (who are barking). This was Wicket's first agility trial. He is too young to compete but it was great to get him out and use to the noise, dogs and people.

Working out with...

Every Monday morning I head to Edmond for a workout class taught by my good friend Elizabeth. All of the ladies have a good time in the class and we often get to make fools of ourselves in front of everyone else in the gym and this morning was no exception. As it was my turn to do froggers (imagine a frog on a bench). As I walked toward my station to do the exercise I couldn't help but pray that the two men directly behind the station would hurry and leave. No luck! So, they got a nice view of my rear end during this exercise and the next couple of ladies after me. Apparently men have no concept of making women feel uncomfortable in the gym. We got to workout with an audience this morning.

embarrassing exercise to do in public:

1. walk like a monkey
2. pull a sled like a pack mule
3. climb a rope with Elizabeth yelling "come on" so everyone in the gym will watch
4. froggers

Book junkie!

I found out today that one of my favorite books "The Host" by Stephenie Myer is going to be made into a movie. Love it! If you like Sci-fi this is a great read and unlike most adult books is very clean. I had Todd listen to the book when we traveled to Arizona earlier this year and he really like the book too.

I have become quite the book junkie so if anyone has info on more good reads send it my way. I would love to write a book. Maybe someday I will get my act together and work on one for fun.

Loved

Dogs have a wonderful little ways to make you feel loved. I took a nap the other day on the couch and woke up to find three dogs snuggling with me. Reese was curled against my belly, Seida was cradled in the nook of my bent legs and Chloe was pushed up against my feet. I couldn't help but smile when woke up. I hope you are cherishing little moments like this with the people and animals in your life.

Mud, Mud go away!

Well, we are definitely not short on rain around Oklahoma. We have had rain out here at our house everyday this week. Let me just say that it is a mud pit around here. I have spent a lot of time lately cleaning mud off the floor, dogs, and everything in between. The rain doesn't seem to dampen the dogs fun though (as long as there is no thunder). Days like this make me very grateful when the sun makes its appearance again.

Thursday night

Thursdays I have agility class with Miss Chloe but decided to take Seida and Wicket along too. Reese had to stay home with Dad and his crazy itchy self. Last night was the first time we pulled into the drive at the field and Wicket squealed because he was so excited to be there. Seida got to go on a walk with me in the big fenced in field all by herself and had a blast. Miss Chloe was wonderful in class, she is such a fun dog to work with. Then of course there is Wicket the wild may that when let out flies at 90 mph around the arena. We did tunnels with Wicket for the first time and he loved it. FYI, if there are extra letters in this post Reese is helping me type.

Labor Day Lazy

This Labor Day I stayed in town. The last few years I have gone to MO for part of the weekend for an agility trail. Since I am going to be gone or busy every weekend from here til next year I decided I wanted to spend one last lazy day with my hubby Todd. Unfortunately, Todd ended up with a cold and wasn't up to doing too much. Todd had his 31st birthday on the 6th! His Mom and Dad got him a very nice old man rocker for our porch. They like to tease him about being old now. :) We went and watched GI Joe. It was a good action movie (we like action). The rest of the time we just hung out being lazy, working on a few things around the house, and hanging with our four favorite dogs.

Cleveland Update

I haven't written anything in a while so I thought I would update everyone on life at the Cleveland House. As you know Todd's car died. We have been thinking about getting rid of the Trailblazer for something a little bigger since we seems to keep adding dogs to the family. Todd and I looked at some vehicles yesterday and dare I say it I liked a minivan best.

I have been training and studying dog training a lot since Wicket has been with us. I am looking forward to this fall. I plan to do a lot of agility trails with Miss Chloe and work on getting her NATCH (NADAC agility trial champion). I will start Wicket in puppy classes soon and maybe try some herding with him. Reese has had a lot of health problems but I'm hoping to do some more freestyle training with him soon. Then their is Seida who loves to hunt critters and is a great running partner for me.
Reese and Wicket playing together.
Reese a few weeks ago got bit by something and his poor little face swelled up. This guy just can't catch a break.

I am thankful for the beautiful day God has given us today. Hope yours is going well too. -Heidi
